Abstract
The declarative modelling of workflows consists in a constraint-based representation of processes. Constraints describe the rules that every instance of the process should respect: the implicit assumption is that every behaviour is allowed, as far as no constraint is violated. This aspect makes declarative models suit highly flexible workflows. In the field of process mining, the automated discovery of declarative processes is gaining more and more interest. In the first part of the talk, the basic concepts of declarative modelling and mining are described. After that, the presentation delves deeper into recent advancements and open challenges.
