Abstract
The country in question is Ukraine, since 2014 involved in the worst crisis since independence in 1991. While some international companies remain in spite of or precisely because of the crisis, whether in an alternative constellation, or with an adapted strategy or not, others have already left the market or have scrapped their decision to enter the market because of the prevailing conflict and the associated crisis. The conflict in Ukraine, by means of the actuality of the events and their importance for Europe as well as for the world order, from a political, legal, historical as well as and especially economic perspective, is particularly suitable for addressing pertinent questions using current Ukraine as a case study. The possible results may provide information on the entrepreneurial crisis management strategies of foreign companies in politically unstable regions and thus be used in similar scenarios under similar conditions in the future. In addition, the exogenous factors in conflict situations that support and encourage new investments and maintain existing foreign investment can be scrutinized and ascertained, creating a long-term basis for foreign investment.
