Abstract (English)
Aims: <br>a) to develop a methodology for identifying the specific training needs of SMEs <br>b) to provide an understanding of the key skill requirements <br>c) to give guidance for SME's towards acquiring the relevant skills <br>d) to translate skill requirements into actionable training needs <br>e) to give guidance for directing the activities towards training areas with greatest impact. <br>Hypotheses: <br>a) success and failures can be identified by discriminating factors <br>b) discriminating factors depend on the quality of the human resource inputs<br> c) measures to improve performance should therefore be aimed at improving or adding new competencies and skills <br>d) some competencies will probably be industry-specific <br>e) company size is critical in determining training needs. <br>First results: <br>country specific analyses of industry structure, industry specific SWOT-analyses, analyses of success factors and available training resources <br>results of the data analysis gathering activities, first statistical analysis
